Decrease Hair Loss through Stress-Management
Stress is one of the major causes of premature hair loss. Your body responds to stressors by releasing small amounts of toxin in the body forcing your hair to go into resting phase prematurely. - After many possible scenarios in your mind, your body begins to react to these scenarios as if they’ve already happened. Classic signs of stress are tightness of muscles, anxiety, quickening of your heartbeat, etc.
- This affects the way you think as well, as you begin to be more and more pessimistic.
- Stress begins to take a toll on your decision-making and other thought processes.
Learning to control your thought pattern can go a long way in dealing with stress. In dealing with everyday stressors like an annoying boss, or the horrible traffic in your city, or the horrible service you are getting from your internet service providers, a good thought pattern is essential in dealing with stress. Aside from controlling your thought patterns, you can also do some other things to prevent hair loss due to stress.
If you really want to keep your hair on your head, avoid smoking like the plague. A lot of people smoke when stressed. Smoking causes arteriosclerosis, or the condition where your arteries become clogged. Clogged arteries prevent proper blood circulation and oxygenation, which is essential to delivering nutrients to your hair follicles. Smoking will eventually shrink your hair follicles, making your hair thinner until such a time when your hair follicles stop working properly.
Get plenty of sleep. Stress is a vicious cycle. When your body responds poorly to stressors, you lose sleep which in turns prevents proper oxygenation of the blood. Aside from causing hair loss, it also makes you feel more tired and more stressed out than before.
Get plenty of exercise. Exercising can promote better blood circulation and oxygenation. When you feel stress, there’s a buildup of energy and adrenalin. The best way to get rid of stress is to release this pent up energy through exercise. Aside from dealing with stress on a physical level, you also allow your mind to deal with stress effectively.
